The Caribbean Sea to the Indian Ocean

The dive sites in the south are less crowded and equal as spectacular as the atolls in the north. The island of Cozumel on the eastern tip of Mexico came into the limelight after Jacques Cousteau shot his documentary here in the 1960s and has become a firm favorite among divers. Named one of the top ten dive sites in the world by Scuba Diving magazine Turks and Caicos, once a playground for hackers today to attract celebrities, honeymooners and divers to the idyllic shores. Those seeking an exciting vertical wall diving should be directed to the west coast of Grand Turk, Salt Cay while it is possible to dive with the whales.

Probably the most famous dive site in the world: the Great Barrier Reef. Located in northeastern Australia off the coast of Queensland, the reef is so large that it can be seen from outer space. In this gigantic underwater world live 400 species of coral, 1500 species of fish, dolphins, sea turtles, rays, whales, sea snakes, just to name a few. But diving requires planning and takes time, so it is best to consult a professional dive center before running with your BCD / Jacket.

Maui, Hawaii

One of the best dive sites in North America is in Maui. Sea turtles, eagle rays and small reef sharks swim along the ancient lava formations. Molokini Crater, marine life park, is the most popular dive site in the island and has a vertical wall that goes all the way down to 250 feet. La Perouse is another great spot in the center of La Perouse Bay where Haleakalas most recent lava flow took place. The landscape here ranges between damselfish and porcupine puffers to the fields of elegant finger coral. And during the whale season Divers have known whales singing underwater.

Sharm El Sheikh

If you look like the most exquisite coral diver in the world, then you should go the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula Sharm El Sheikh. Here in the protection of Ras Mohammed National Park coral reefs are all shades and shapes adorn a unique underwater world where you will see to the famous clown fish, sea eels and blacktip reef sharks.

Malaysian Borneo

It is a destination that you read about it every day, Malaysian Borneo has been slowly becoming a dive site of the most advanced and adventurous divers. In the northern part of Borneo is a small island in the South China Sea Sipadan Island was formed above the corals living an extinct undersea volcano. Famous for its hawksbill and green turtles on the island is visited by schools of barracuda and mackerel, and whale sharks hammer.

St Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands

St Croix the largest in the U.S. Virgin Islands is also the largest island in the living reefs in the Caribbean, including the best black corals in the region. Buck Island has the largest concentration of coral reefs and is a good place for divers and snorkellers.

The most advanced divers should be directed to the deep waters where gorgonians are submerged canyon walls of Salt River Canyon or Wall Northstar Reef diving located in the east end of Davis Bay.

The warm and calm Indian Ocean waters make diving here a much more enjoyable. But diving in the Maldives is an experience that is more than nice its sublime. Most divers do not come here for coral reefs alone, they come to see the graceful manta rays.

These creatures are hard to see in most waters, however, in the Maldives is almost always guaranteed a sighting.
