Top 5 Places to Visit in Poland

Poland has had to experience severe bad luck over the past 50 to 60 years or so. They have been invade multiple times, torn apart during the World War II and a large part of their population were dragged to the Nazi Camps for being Jews.

However, over the years, Poland has put themselves back together and have turned their country into a cultural hub. They tick all the boxes when it comes to giving the tourists a perfect time. And if you are wondering what to do and where to visit in Poland, then take a look at our list below.

Malbork

Starting off our list of places to visit is the Malbork. It is arguably one of the most well-known sites in Poland. The Malbork is basically a castle that was built way back in the 13th century. The most unique thing about the Malbork is not that it is just another castle but it is actually three different castles.

It is entirely made out of brick thereby giving it a very bold red look. In fact, this is the largest brick castle in not just in Poland, not in Europe but in the world. While it took 230 years to build it, Malbork did suffer during the WWII. This make for a good sightseeing if you are in Poland.

Torun

Given how Poland was bombed during the World War II, it is quite a feat to survive all the bombings and remain in one piece. That is exactly how lucky Torun was. Torun is located on the Vistula River and it is very well-known for the National Geographic Polska which is entirely a Gothic town hall.

Since the town was left unharmed during the WWII bombings, it still contains a lot of the buildings and architectures which date back to the Middle Ages. For tourists, this place provides an endless number of Gothic paintings, sculptures, architects and even Baroque altars.

Warsaw

You cannot just visit Poland without really taking a tour in their capital. People all around the world compare Warsaw as a phoenix rising from its ashes. Warsaw was actually destroyed completely during the World War II and it took a lot of rebuilding to get this city back to its former glory.

Currently it is a city that thrives on its historic past and as cemented itself as a center of cultural hub. Warsaw was once called the “Paris of the North” so one can imagine the kind of life people over here lives. It is a beautiful city that has a lot to offer to the tourists of all ages including the Copernicus Science Center.

Krakow

It is always great to visit cities that are rich in history and has something to offer to their tourists. And it is even greater when a city has a tremendous transformation about it. Krakow is one of those city that has a story to tell their tourists.

It used to be an ancient village of no significance but over the years it pushed itself to become the second most important city in Poland. The city is filled with activities including cultural activities, artistic work, academic and even economic activities.

The whole city is very easy to get around making it quite a treat for the tourists to take a complete tour of the city. The Old Town of Krakow remains the biggest attraction of the city.

Poznan

Not many cities are known for their impressive academic work and even less are visited by people simply because of academics. Poznan is such a city where international students often visit to meet up with their Polish classmates or friends.

The city contains Poland’s third largest university and plays host to a lot of major international events such as the Malta International Theatre festival which is held every summer. So if you are looking to visit Poland during the summer break then you should make a short trip to Poznan.

Apart from that, Poznan has other things to offer to their tourists. The Imperial Royal Route is one for the tourists where people of all countries take leisurely strolls and often use that road to take tours of the city. There is an artificial lake where people can try out ski slope, ice rinks and swimming pools.
