No one knows who constructed these but the Phrygians are normally held responsible for the built of these astonishing wonders. These were once called as the man-made caves, where the Christians hid to save their lives.


Reaching the depth of approximately sixty meters, the dazzling Derinkuyu is declared to be the largest cave and the history features that it was used to be the home of more than twenty thousand people.

Only half of this cave can be visited by the tourists where as they can also visit another attraction that is located in close vicinity and is called as Kaymaklli but for that they have to take a walk through an eight-kilometer long tunnel.



The tourist can also appreciate engineering impressive- the G-Can flood surge tunnels which are located in Tokyo and the history dates back to the end of the nineteenth century. It’s a genuine engineering marvel and an amazement that is six kilometers long and is fifty meters deep with tanks and pumps that keep the city dry during the rainy season.

The temple-like main tank is the key highlight of this whole attraction which is enormous and contains fifty nine pillars and seventy eight horsepower pumps.
